Dr. Caroline Gudorf
Caring for Young Minds
I am excited to announce that I am now offering pediatric neuropsychological assessment services in Santa Barbara. I have been dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults in California since 2011.
I completed my pre-doctoral internship at UCSF Children’s Hospital Oakland in the Behavioral Pediatrics Department. I was trained in neuropsychological assessment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. I completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship specializing in pediatric neuropsychological assessment with Dr. Alex Peterson, Ph.D. in Oakland, CA.
I work with students facing a range of challenges, including suspected learning disorders, attentional weakness, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, depression, and other neuropsychiatric conditions. After completing an evaluation, I collaborate closely with families, schools, and treatment providers to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses the child’s academic, social/emotional, and neurocognitive needs, including recommendations for academic support and/or therapy. I also attend school meetings to advocate for families regarding Section 504 Plans, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and other targeted accommodations.
Supporting students and families is my passion; I strive to ensure that my patients and their families receive the highest quality care. As a mother of two, I understand the importance of compassionate parenting. My husband and I, along with our hyperactive/inattentive subtype Australian Shepherd, are delighted to join the Santa Barbara community. I look forward to helping children and their families navigate their unique challenges and thrive.
